“The cruise is the kind of vacation with the highest growth rate” points out Mr. Kyriakos Anastasiadis, CEO of Celestyal Cruises and President of CLIA Europe. He notes that through CLIA Europe, “we will have to work to show off the Eastern Mediterranean as the first cruise destination worldwide”.
He speaks about the role of Celestyal Cruises, the only company that makes “home porting” in Greece and aims to show off our country as the best cruise destination. He also highlights that, despite the crisis of previous years, Celestyal not only has kept its passengers, but also has attracted young people from countries, not yet included in its own cruises.
For his part, capt. George Koumpenas, Vice- President of Enterprise Celestyal Cruises, speaks about the company’s contribution to our national economy, which is a total of 110 million euros per year and begins with the repair of its vessels in the Perama and Neorion shipyards, while he emphasizes that the closure of shipyards in Greece forces the company to send ships for docking abroad.
He refers to the natural gas as a marine fuel, whose use will be intensified with the new strict environmental regulations, while he stresses that Piraeus has the edge thanks to the Revithoussa LNG Terminal. “All that is missing is the appropriate legislative framework” he says.

With an eye on the international markets and new destinations, Celestyal Cruises continues to be a dynamic presence in the Greek cruise, keeping its passenger numbers despite the last year’s difficulties, as the company announced at its Press Conference that was held on Thursday 15 December 2016.
Mr. Kyriakos Anastasiadis, CEO of Celestyal Cruises and newly elected President of CLIA Europe, presented the development ventures, the goals and the company’s vision for international presence, while he gave his own estimations for the future of European cruise and the difficulties that it is expected for the industry to face during the new period in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

The American P&I Club completes 100 years continuing its steady upward course.
Mr. Joseph E. M. Hughes Chairman & CEO of American P&I Club, speaks at maritimes TV in the context of the presentation in early December at the Piraeus Marine Club. He makes a history of 100 years of American P&I Club and speaks about the important role of Greek shipping in the Club, noting that it constitutes the largest part.
He points out that in a difficult freight market the Club shows solidarity with the shipowners, while he focuses on the key points that the Club pays attention to, in the next years – such as providing high quality services to its members.
For her part, Mrs. Dorothea Ioannou, Managing Director, SCB (Hellas) Inc. – Global Business Development Director, speaks about the human factor in the American P&I Club that it is entirely unique and builds the correct cooperation and trust with its members.
Mr. Vincent J. Solarino President & COO of American P&I Club, refers to the American Hellenic Hull – whose CEO is Mr. Ilias Tsakiris, saying that it is not a new company. He also notes that with offices in London, Piraeus, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Houston, the Club is next to its members worldwide and offers its services where and when needed, with the ability to communicate in more than 11 languages, having a global network of partners.
For his part, Mr. Kostas Karavasilis, Claims Manager of American Hellenic Hull notes: “In this short time we managed to have 920 ships, insured with a homogeneous portfolio for both dry and liquid cargo ships”. The valid claims are paid in a maximum of 15 days from the moment that the claim will be approved, “something which was a promise to the customers of American Hellenic Hull”, as Mr. Karavasilis says. He speaks about the profile of the fleet that they insure, highlighting that “In the American Hellenic Hull, we try to insure men and managers primarily, and not ships.
Aggelos Kostakos, Claims Manager of Oceanstar Management, speaks about the experience of their cooperation with the American P&I Club which begins in 2007, stressing that it is only positive. “The managers of the Club are characterized by professionalism, consistency and continuity” he emphasizes. He refers to the new venture, the American Hellenic Hull, saying that it consists of two managers groups with past, present and certainly future.

“The issue is that, shipping will understand that the value is found in the information and how it is managed” says Mr. Efthymios Chaldeakis, Sr. Strategic Accounts Manager of SetelHellas, speaking at maritimes TV, in the context of 3rd Naftemporiki Shipping Conference.
He points out that technology autonomously enters shipping and nobody can avoid it, while he stresses that SetelHellas gives the appropriate tools so that a shipping company, starting from basics, assesses the value of information.
“We build a solution based on the company’s needs” he adds.
He also refers to the constant investment of SetelHellas in human resources and the company’s presence in the international shipping market.

DEPA which is a provider of LNG in Greece and shows great interest in the development of gas supplies to ships in recent years, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Attica Group, in order that they see with more specific data the existing various alternatives and thus, a relationship consumer or customer- supplier relationship be obtained, as it was highlighted by Mr. Giorgos Polychroniou, Operations Director of Strategy & Corporate Development of DEPA and Spyros Paschalis, CEO of Attica Group, in their interview at maritimes TV.
Mr. Giorgos Polychroniou expressed his optimism about the achievement of commercial cooperation with Attica Group “for LNG supply in a way which is, of course, beneficial and efficient for the customer side, as it is natural and expected”.
According to Mr. Paschalis, Attica Group has evaluated the cost of converting the ship mechanical systems in order that they receive LNG as fuel, given that one of its ships runs on LNG fuel the line Greece- Italy.

It concerns the implementation of Liquefied Natural Gas as fuel installation for propulsion of commercial ships.

He speaks about Piraeus office. As he highlights, it moves in three main axes: the satisfied customers, the social offer and the development of both the local office and the whole group of MAN B&W which develops its activities worldwide.
Next year MAN DIESEL & TURBO HELLAS completes 50 years of constant presence and development in Greek market, something which, as Mr. Christodoulopoulos says “fill us with confidence. We have past, present and continuity”.
