“The Fortune Computer Based Self-Training Modules were developed to address time and geographical limitations in the training of users of all applications of Fortune Maritime Suite, Office Side or Vessel Client at the office and at sea,” Konstantinos Agas, Head of Fortune Technologies SA Technical Services, explained.

Classes and certification are now available on line in a self- guided and self- paced computer based training format as an alternative to classroom courses. Furthermore, to counter for the limited availability of internet on board, the Training Modules can also work offline, as stand alone.   

Office employees and crew members are provided with the option of learning the functionality of Fortune Technologies’ ERP solutions, as well as undergoing customized company specific training, at a pace and time that fits best with their busy schedules in office or onboard.

Presenting the new service, Agas underscored that training is interactive and represents the actual user interface of each application.

Extensive use of video, along with corresponding narration ensures that all features and functionalities are thoroughly explained through actual examples.

Upon completion of each module, students will take a self- administered certification exam to validate their progress and obtain the relevant certificates.

Outlining the advantages of the new training system Agas stressed the lack of time and geographical limitations. Training is available anywhere 24/7 as many times as needed, saving time and money, without disruptions in the companies’ routine or vessels’ schedule.

The user- friendly modules can be tailored to the exact version of Dynamics NAV each company is using and are accessible through tablets and mobile phones, while electronic training records are available for the company to keep track.
