Capt. Norbert Aschmann CEO of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), in an interview with maritimesTV talks about how small and medium-sized shipping companies can reduce their costs if use BSM Group services.

Christos Yordamlis, CEO of Prisma Electronics, speaks at maritimes TV about the application of new technologies to the shipping. “… and at the same time about 900 ships were repairing in Perama” says Mr. Stavros Kasidiaris, President of Association of Electricians Repairers and Shipbuilders and ECOMASYN, speaking about the ship repair activity in Greece when the shipyards were functioning.

According to the study made by the National Technical University of Athens, in the productive years of Skaramagkas shipyard 71 vessels were built and 22.000 workmen were employed. Nowadays, unemployment exceeds 90\% in the industry, while he stresses that the causes that led to this impairment of the ship repairing should be removed.

The port of Piraeus enters a new period

On the occasion of the inauguration of the new cruise pier Saint Nikolas at the harbor of Piraeus, very important persons spoke to the camera of maritimes TV.

Mr. Yiannis Moralis, Mayor of Piraeus: “The investment in the harbor of Piraeus aims at the development and progress both for the port of Piraeus and for our city”.

Mr. Stergios Pitsiorlas, President of national privatization fund TAIPED: “Today’s event has a symbolic character. It is the first completed investment. COSCO has a very large investment program in Piraeus”.

Mr. Stavros Hatzakos, General Manager of Piraeus port Authority S.A. OLP: “The new cruise pier Saint Nikolas at the harbor of Piraeus aims to further consolidate the position of Piraeus as cruise center in Mediterranean”.

Mr. Theodore Kontes, President of the Union of Cruise Shipowners: “The new pier will function for the benefit of cruise”.

Mr. Ioannis Trifyllis, Executive Committee Member of Hellenic Chamber of Shipping NEE: “It is a tangible proof of the determination of COSCO to establish, invest and upgrade Piraeus”.
