«Δυνατότητες Χρηματοδότησης ΜΜΕ μέσω του Νέου Αναπτυξιακού Νόμου» ( Ν.4399/16 ), την Δευτέρα 13 Φεβρουαρίου 2017 και ώρα 18.00 μ.μ., στην αίθουσα Συνεδριάσεων του Β.Ε.Π. (Καραίσκου 111)
Κύριος ομιλητής θα είναι ο Γενικός Γραμματέας Στρατηγικών και Ιδιωτικών Επενδύσεων κ. Λόης Λαμπριανίδης.
Σκοπός του νόμου είναι η τεχνολογική αναβάθμιση, η διαμόρφωση μιας νέας εξωστρεφούς εθνικής ταυτότητας (branding), η βελτίωση της ανταγωνιστικότητας σε τομείς υψηλής προστιθέμενης αξίας και έντασης γνώσης, η μετακίνηση στην αλυσίδα παραγωγής της αξίας για την παραγωγή πιο σύνθετων προϊόντων, η προσφορά καλύτερων υπηρεσιών.
Με το τέλος της παρουσίασης, θα ακολουθήσουν ερωτήσεις από τους παρευρισκόμενους προς τον ομιλητή.

This course informs about the requirements of the energy management standard ISO 50001 (EnMS).
Participants will learn the basics necessary to set up an energy management system and receive valuable insights to help them implement the new requirements into existing procedures and processes. Furthermore, explanations will be provided on how to use an existing management system and extend it for the tasks of an EnMS.

Content:
Energy efficiency and energy management today are important issues for all companies, big and small. This course provides information about the content and the structure of an energy management system (EnMS) according to the ISO 50001 standard and how to integrate the additional requirements into an existing management system. Differences and similarities with environmental (14001) and/or quality management (9001) systems are highlighted as needed.
Entry requirements: Familiarity with ISM, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004

“TIER III Service Experience”
“TIER III Service Experience”
On January 1, 2016 the TIER III regulation on NOx emission went into force in NECAs. However, most new vessels with two stroke diesel engines coming out of the shipyards in 2016, 2017 or even later are TIER II vessels. This is because the TIER III compliant NOx abatement systems are quite costly, and many ship owners have avoided the extra expense as long as possible by ordering vessels, which have been keel laid before December 2015, thereby “only” needing to comply with TIER II. Generally, the TIER III implementation onboard vessels has been much slower than initially anticipated, and the ramp up of the TIER III engine rooms are therefore delayed by one - two years. This has resulted in a longer maturing period for MDT to optimize the NOx abatement systems.
MDT has been developing TIER III compliant technologies for nearly a decade now, but a strong game changer came into the picture in 2014, when it was concluded that all NECAs globally from 2016 are actually also SECAs. The consequence of this conclusion is that any vessel operating in the NECA (U.S.A. waters) will be operating on low Sulphur fuel (or in rare cases on HFO in combination with a SOx scrubber).
The logical and very sensible decision taken by MDT in Q4 2014 was to continue all further development of NOx abatement systems on basis of low Sulphur fuel. The result is today’s MDT system portfolio of low Sulphur (LS) Exhaust Gas Re-circulation (EGR), high pressure (HP) SCR and low pressure (LP) SCR with optimized sizing and equipment configuration at significantly lower cost than the first HFO based systems. This year’s SNAME presentation by MDT on this subject describes the above new development and future potentials.

‘‘Ballast Water Management’’
‘‘Ballast Water Management’’
Mr. Tom Kennedy, representative of Optimarin AS, will speak on Optimarin Ballast Water Treatment Technology. Having been founded in 1994 in Stavanger, Optimarin AS was one of the first companies in the world to develop a system for environmentally friendly purification of ballast water. It obtained IMO Type Approval in 2009, and soon it will obtain Full USCG Type Approval, being one of the first to achieve this. Although it recognized that there were various methods for purifying ballast water, Optimarin AS chose to pursue a solution that does not use any chemicals and leaves no residual products that are harmful to the ocean or the environment. In the year of 2000 Optimarin AS was honored by installing the world’s first ballast water treatment system on board the cruise ship Regal Princess. Its vision is to have the most environmentally friendly ballast water purification system in the world.
Mr. Dimitrios Tsoulos, representative of Evoqua Water Technologies Ltd, Greek branch will speak on Clean Systems in Murky Waters. The presentation will focus on the additional value and return on investment that a BWMS can provide through optional dual purpose function as a marine growth prevention system, and the unique features that help to keep the filter at peak operation in some of the most turbid ports around the world. Based on real life experience it will be explained how Evoqua has been able to prolong filter screen life from 5 to 10 years or more with reduced clogging risk utilizing a patented trickle method within a BWMS. The combination of filtration followed by in-situ production of biocide from seawater via electrochlorination will be presented. The system is currently in the final phases of testing for USCG Type Approval under NSF International in the U.S.A.
