Speaking at maritimes TV, Mr. Michalis Sakellis, President of Greek Shipowners Association for Passenger Ships (SEEN) notes that Greek coastal navigation finds its development rhythm. However, political instability and capital controls had a negative impact on the work of sea short shipping, without helping the attraction of investments in the industry.
He emphasized that the transport work of Greek coastal shipping, for passengers and vehicles, is the largest in Europe.
He pointed out that short sea shipping is an important factor of tourism and it is greatly influenced by the course of tourism.
He referred to the sale of Piraeus port Authority S.A. OLP, stressing that “We are satisfied with the developments, because the interests of coastal shipping were secured by this sale”.
