Brazilian iron ore exports rose to a three-month high of 35.1 Mt in December, but still fell by 4.4 Mt year-on-year, government data show. Brazil exported 373.9 Mt of iron ore in 2016, up by 7.8 Mt on 2015 and an annual high.

By contrast, Brazil’s corn and soya (beans & meal) shipments both fell in 2016 with 21.9 Mt and 66.0 Mt exported, down by 7.4 Mt and 3.1 Mt on 2015, respectively.
