SUMMIT BACKGROUND
Nowadays, global climate change, environmental pollution, and resource constraints have intensified, and countries worldwide are committed to promoting carbon peaking, carbon neutrality. Green and low-carbon development has become a global consensus. In 2020, China also proposed goals to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2060. China urgently needs to transform and upgrade its economic structure, energy structure and industrial structure, and all key industry sectors will be subject to enhanced regulation to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. Moreover, low-carbon transformation has become an essential issue for enterprise development. According to the estimation of CDP, carbon emissions generated by enterprises' supply chain ecology are often 5.5 times of those generated by their business operations, and the supply chain has become a key transmission mechanism for carbon reduction pressure. Supply chain carbon neutrality has become another "main force" in the carbon neutrality revolution after carbon trading and green power trading. It is also a crucial means to realize carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
From the perspective of supply chain management, the Summit will address the impact of carbon neutrality goals on supply chain management, ways to realize low-carbon development within the supply chain, and the opportunities and challenges for China's supply chain under the global response to climate change.
