P & I CONFERENCE TO BE HELD AT THE

‘MILTIADIS A. MARINAKIS HALL’

OF THE PIRAEUS MARINE CLUB

Dear Members,

Further to previous announcement in respect of the above event, we are pleased to advise the following topics :

-This House believes that Clubs are not [yet] adequately advising their Members of the problems and potential liabilities flowing from the 2020 Fuels Sulphur Cap.
 

-This House believes that the time has come for P&I Clubs to stop supporting insolvent Owners and underwriting traditional Mortgagee Bank liabilities by issuing MLC Certificates
 

-“This House believes that clubs are wasting their time and their members’ money by diversifying into non-mutual P&I and other lines of business.”
 

-Considering plentiful Club reserves, is diminishing investment income a reasonable  excuse to increase premiums?
