Case A.: The Design of 56-Meter Gunboats Class ‘Machitis’ Customized for the Needs of Hellenic Navy
Case B.: The Design of Efficient 141-Meter Ro Pax Ferry, ‘Nisos Mykonos’ and ‘Nisos Chios’
Presentation of the design for the 56-meter gunboats class ‘Machitis’ designed by Hellenic Shipyards. Four sister vessels of this type have been built in Greece in Hellenic Shipyards for Hellenic Navy. Presentation of the design for ‘Nisos Mykonos’ and ‘Nisos Chios’ Ro Pax Ferries owned by Hellenic Seaways and built in Greece. The first one was built in Hellenic Shipyards and the second one in Elefsis Shipyards. Both designs are characterized as proven designs, since all contractual and operational requirements and characteristics were taken into consideration during the design period, and have been proven and fulfilled during harbor acceptance tests, sea trials and vessel’s operation.
The following aspects will be presented: Mission and design requirements; Vessel’s particulars and payload; Vessel’s description; Vessel’s systems and special features; Special design areas; Design development; Rules and regulations; Authorities; Approval and certification; Vessels built, tests, conformity to the contract requirements; Design verification - proven design.

After the meeting hors d’oeuvres, wine, soft drinks, etc. will be served.
